This episode brought in a ton of heavy hitters and fan favorites and was a total crowd pleaser. It's not even worth talking about how this all fits into Boba's story anymore. It's the 104th episode of the WhoDatJedi podcast! This week, your hosts -- Aaron Svoboda (@Aaron_Svoboda), Alfredo Narvaez (@NOLA_Fredo) and Dave Gladow (@davegladow) -- jump into the fifth chapter of "The Book of Boba Fett," the live action spinoff series to "The Mandalorian" on Disney+. The big topic, naturally, is how big of a departure this episode ended up being. As a part of telling a story about this particular character, it's really tough to evaluate, because it doesn't do that at all. Taken simply as a piece of Star Wars media, though? It's brilliant. The guys talk about how this is the "Brown Eyed Girl" of the set list, how it gives us better insight into a fan favorite character, appreciate how dripping with prequel-era nostalgia it is, and what it might tell us about the future of "The Mandalorian."

For the 102nd episode of the WhoDatJedi podcast, your hosts -- Aaron Svoboda (@Aaron_Svoboda), Alfredo Narvaez (@NOLA_Fredo) and David Gladow (@davegladow) -- do a watch and react to the third chapter of "The Book of Boba Fett," the live action spinoff series to "The Mandalorian" on Disney+. This episode of the series has drawn some criticism from fans for some of its real-life inspiration, but the WhoDatJedi crew has more concern over the quality of the visuals and effects, which just aren't as consistently good as Star Wars generally produces. On the 101st episode of the WhoDatJedi podcast, your hosts -- Aaron Svoboda (@Aaron_Svoboda), Alfredo Narvaez (@NOLA_Fredo) and David Gladow (@davegladow) -- take a deeper dive into the second chapter of "The Book of Boba Fett," the live action spinoff series to "The Mandalorian" on Disney+. Beyond addressing some of the deeper cuts on display, the crew spends a lot of time looking at the different perspectives fans have been getting in this series, specifically as it relates to the Tusken Raiders. If those characters are a proxy or extension of Indigenous peoples, it's a fairly important step for Star Wars to offer a better look at their culture and to present them as well formed individuals. Also, how does all of this ultimately inform Boba's character? Are we truly seeing him turn over a new leaf, or is the matter a little grayer than we might think?

This concept of telling the same story over and over again might be familiar to Star Wars fans. So, we talked about some of the complexities of that. What makes a piece of media special? What makes a sequel or cover song worth your time? Does a familiar song or story provide a better canvas for evaluating an artist? And what are some of the best and worst Christmas songs of all time? We covered all of that and absolutely took a look at some of the "geekier" Christmas songs in existence in the process. We also talked some Saints, "Rogue Squadron" delays, Kathleen Kennedy, and Disney+ Day. This show is big ... but it's worth your time.

With news breaking that Hayden Christensen has been cast in the new "Ahsoka" show, your WhoDatJedi podcast hosts -- Aaron Svoboda (@Aaron_Svoboda), Alfredo Narvaez (@NOLA_Fredo) and David Gladow (@davegladow) -- do their best to unpack that and dovetail into a larger discussion on the character of Anakin Skywalker. Regardless of one's opinion on the character from the prequels, we've also seen him in "The Clone Wars," and partially on the strength of that character's on-screen story, the group's consensus is: "Give us more." So what can we learn about Anakin going forward? And how does he tend to be a good reflection for other characters, and what might that mean for "Ahsoka?" The group goes down a pretty big rabbit hole in this discussion, but they also talk about a big casting rumor for the Cassian Andor series, drop "The Mandalorian" news nuggets, and even give the listeners some puppy time.

On the 93rd episode of the WhoDatJedi podcast, your hosts -- Aaron Svoboda (@Aaron_Svoboda), Alfredo Narvaez (@NOLA_Fredo) and David Gladow (@davegladow) -- revisit their topic from a couple of weeks ago ... how the other movies in the saga actually enhance the original Star Wars trilogy, this time looking at the sequels (Episodes VII-IX). There's a certain reverence the filmmakers paid the OT during the sequels, and that permeates those movies ... and in certain cases it elevates some of the original material. Beyond that, the character of Palpatine is now even bigger (and badder) a figure than he was before and we now have more of a complete (and honest) picture of our original heroes. If you're down on the sequels maybe this conversation will give you a more positive perspective on things!
